About Us

RED DOT CAMERAS ARE THE UK's ONLY EXCLUSIVELY LEICA STORE
A new shop, dedicated to Leica – probably the world’s most prestigious make of camera – has opened in London.
Now, Red Dot Cameras – named after the Leica logo which is synonymous with a small red circle – has opened in London’s Old Street, just five minutes walk from Old Street and Barbican Tube stations.
Red Dot Cameras offers an unparalleled experience for every Leica lover, whether their interests lie in the classics of yesteryear, the latest digital technology of today, or anything else in between.
Alongside the cameras, the shop also offers a wide range of pre-owned Leica equipment, as well as accessories that include Leica manuals, books, Manfrotto tripods, Metz flash guns, Billingham bags and Crumpler bags. A full repair and servicing facility is also offered, and customers’ own Leica equipment can be sold on a commission basis, and as an opening offer we will be charging 15%.
All new cameras on sale at Red Dot Cameras are sourced from Leica UK and carry a full world-wide guarantee plus the unique Leica UK passport scheme.
Red Dot Cameras is run by Ivor Cooper, who has been selling cameras in London for more than 15 years, having worked previously for some of London’s top classic camera companies.
“Leicas have been my life,” says Ivor. “I’m an avid user of the cameras and have probably sold more new models during the past 12 years than anyone else in the UK. So it was my mission to open my own store dedicated exclusively to Leica, offering an unrivalled expertise in all things bearing the famous Red Dot.
That store is Red Dot Cameras.”

MONGOL CHARITY RALLY

On the 19th of July 2008, Princess Roo II, a 1990 Austin Maestro, bought for £126 from eBay, will embark on her 10,000 mile maiden voyage from Hyde Park in London to Ulan Bator in Mongolia via France, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Kazahkstan and Russia again and a load of other countries in between.
On board will be Adam and Tamsin, who between the two of them don't know one end of a monkey wrench from the other. Adam will be taking his beloved Leica M8 and Elmarit 1:2.8 90mm, Tri-elmar 1:4/16-18-21 asph and Summarit 1:2.5/35, all purchased from the nice people at Red Dot Cameras especially to capture the people and places on route. Hopefully it won't just be lots of people breaking down.
They are attempting to raise a lot of money for Mercy Corps and Great Ormond Street, so please sponsor them. On their return there will be an exhibition to show just how fantastic this camera really is.
