The Leica SL2 Silver - Inspired by the classics

Leica expands the SL-System portfolio with a new variation of the Leica SL2 Camera. With a silver anodised top and bottom plate, the camera impresses with a classic look.

To accommodate the request from many photographers who expressed the strong interest in using the familiar 28mm with Art line quality, SIGMA produces the SIGMA 28mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art, based on the know-how gained through development of the Art F1.4 prime lens lineup released so far. The NOKTON 35mm F1.2 Aspherical III VM is an updated lens, featuring improved compactness for enhance useability on rangefinder cameras whilst keeping the established excellent optical performance of the previous model.

By using leading-edge optical glass and a high-performance design method, we have been able to reduce the size of the lens whilst combining both high-level optical performance and a wide aperture.

In comparison with the former model (NOKTON 35mm F1.2 Aspherical II), it is approximately 20% shorter (50.5mm), and it is about 30% lighter (332g). In comparison to other interchangeable lenses for mirrorless camera with the same specifications, it is less than half the length and one third the weight.

When seeking for the ultimate in optical performance, most lenses tend to have many elements which makes them heavy and bulky. The Voigtl?nder VM series provides a rich experience and value by giving the best balance of practical optical performance and useability.

Aberration is an important factor for the lens performance. To actualize a high-performance lens, one of the essential elements is aberration correction. When it comes to aberration, there are chromatic aberration of magnification and axial chromatic aberration. It is possible to correct the chromatic aberration of magnification in photo-editing software whereas axial chromatic aberration cannot be corrected afterwards. This lens incorporates FLD (?F? Low Dispersion) glass elements, which have performance equal to fluorite, and SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements, and by optimizing the power alignment of the lens, both types of aberration have been corrected. The lens achieves ultra-high image quality through the entire focusing range. Also, by appropriate alignment of aspheric lenses, astigmatism and field curvature are corrected. The result is superior optimum resolution even in peripheral areas.

This lens effectively arranges three FLD (?F? Low Dispersion) glass elements and three SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements to correct axial chromatic aberration and magnification chromatic aberration to the limit. A sharp image is formed on the focal plane with the maximum aperture and contrast with the soft bokeh in the out of focus area highlights the solidity of a subject. With a distortion of 1% or below and a sagittal coma flare corrected to the limit, it demonstrates a consistent optical characteristic over the entire sensor. This is the ultimate large-diameter standard lens that has both 8K-compatible resolution and beautiful bokeh.
