Its newly designed optical system employs anomalous dispersion glass in four of its seven elements across six groups. This achieves exceptional image quality through an apochromatic design that minimises axial chromatic aberration to near-zero levels.

Its simple construction featuring a single lens element that extends and its maximum aperture of F2.8 result in a compact overall length of just 44mm measured from the mount and a filter diameter of φ43mm, comparable to a standard lens.
