UVa II Filter
Protects against damage and dirt
The UVa II filter protects the front elements of the lens against scratches, marks and dirt. At the same time, the new multicoating and significantly improved optical parameters make it possible to preserve full imaging quality, even in unfavourable lighting conditions. Thanks to an additional thread, the UVa II filter can also be used in combination with other filters, and acts as permanent protection for your valuable filters, too.
Available in sizes: E39 to E95, Series VII and VIII

The overall length of the product from the mount surface is limited to a short 14mm, the main body weight is only 99g, and it boasts the mobility of a snap shooter, which is a characteristic of rangefinder cameras. It features a simple lens configuration of 6 elements in 4 groups, including one double-sided aspherical lens and three elements of anomalous partial dispersion glass, producing outstanding images.

The accessory metal hood is designed to be integrated with the aperture control ring of the lens and is equipped with an aperture indicator line when mounted. To avoid increasing the overall length of the lens when used with this hood, a special thin frame filter is also included, with a thickness of 1.1 mm from the lens filter thread. The lens cap is machined and the hood cap is made of deep drawn metal. In addition to the beautiful exterior design of the lens itself, these tasteful accessories provide not only photographic pleasure but also the pride of ownership.

The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m. The lens has a covered focusing helical not seen in vintage lenses with this style of rotating helicoid and is designed so that the helicoid is
not exposed to the outer lens barrel even when shooting at the minimum distance, making it resistant to dust and other external environment conditions. The focus lever is equipped with an infinity position lock mechanism like vintage lenses, which is useful when operating the aperture ring or attaching and detaching the lens.

Note: The black finish mount will not be recognized when used with a camera equipped with a system that reads 6-bit encoding. Set lens detection to OFF.

Main Features:

• Advanced cutting edge optics for modern sharp images
• Very small lightweight 99g lens
• Retro style reminiscent of vintage lenses
• Compact design with a total length of only 14mm.
• All metal lens barrel for high rigidity and durability
• Manual focus for reliable focusing operation
• Built in rangefinder focusing (minimum distance of 0.7m)
• Bayonet VM mount

Picture quality, speed, and particularly important for professional use a robust construction are the main advantages of all APO-Summicron-SL-Lenses. The APO-Summicron-SL-Lenses were designed from scratch for the mirrorless SL-System. That means that the optical and sensor design, as well as the imaging process match perfectly to achieve the highest quality. They offer maximum detail transfer and pure colour reproduction from the center to the edges, over all distances and all F-stop settings. Leica APO-Summicron-SL-Lenses already achieve extremely high detail contrast close to diffraction limit, which makes them particularly suitable for the creative use of planes of sharpness and unsharpness and the distinct isolation of subject details. Thanks to their shallow depth of field and exceptional imaging performance, every single lens guarantees the special look for which Leica photography is renowned.
